CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026: North America's Biggest Construction Show Returns to Las Vegas

Held once every three years, CONEXPO-CON/AGG is routinely described as one of the world's three largest construction equipment exhibitions, alongside bauma in Munich and bauma CHINA in Shanghai. The 2026 edition runs March 3 to 7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and for equipment manufacturers targeting the North American market, it is less a show to consider attending than a fixture that shapes product launch calendars three years in advance.

A North American Anchor Event

The previous edition drew more than 2,600 exhibitors from 42 countries into 175,000 square metres of exhibit space and attracted roughly 125,000 attendees. The show is organised by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers together with the National Precast Concrete Association, reflecting its dual focus on construction equipment and the building-materials production side of the industry.

Because CONEXPO only happens every three years, exhibitors treat it as a milestone: new equipment platforms, technology demonstrations, and dealer network announcements are frequently timed around it. That concentration of activity is part of why the show pulls attendance from well beyond the United States, including buyers from Canada, Latin America, and increasingly Asia and the Middle East.

What the Show Covers

Product categories span earthmoving and excavation equipment, aggregates and asphalt production machinery, concrete equipment, cranes and lifting equipment, and construction technology including telematics and jobsite software. Large outdoor demonstration lots let exhibitors run heavy equipment in operating conditions, a format the indoor halls cannot replicate.

The three-year gap between editions also shapes how buyers approach the show. Contractors and rental fleet operators often hold off on major capital equipment decisions until they've walked the floor and compared machines side by side, which means purchasing activity tied to CONEXPO tends to ripple through the industry for months after the halls close rather than concluding when the show ends.

The Attachment and Component Opportunity

Hydraulic breaker, attachment, and component suppliers targeting North America generally treat CONEXPO as the single most important show on their three-year cycle. The buyer base includes not just equipment OEMs but rental companies, contractors, and dealers who specify attachments independently of the base machine, making the show relevant to component suppliers even when they don't exhibit alongside an excavator manufacturer.

The rental industry's weight at CONEXPO is worth noting on its own: North American rental fleets are a major channel for attachment sales, since rental customers frequently rent an attachment separately from the carrier machine, and fleet managers attending the show are evaluating durability and serviceability as closely as price.
