CTT Expo 2026: Russia's Flagship Construction Machinery Show and the Market Behind It

Russia's construction and infrastructure sector operates at a scale that most international observers underestimate. The country covers eleven time zones, has active housing, road, and industrial construction programmes across multiple federal districts, and runs mining operations from the Arctic north to Siberia that span coal, gold, diamonds, iron ore, nickel, copper, and virtually every other commercially significant mineral. Servicing that geography requires an enormous fleet of construction and mining equipment, and the companies that supply it gather at Crocus Expo in Moscow every spring.

CTT Expo 2026 runs May 26 to 29 at Crocus Expo IEC — the same venue it has occupied since the show's founding in 2000. The 2026 edition occupies Pavilions 1 and 2 plus the full outdoor exhibition area, covering more than 70,000 square metres in total across all co-located events. The show has gone by different names over the years — bauma CTT Russia for a period when it carried the Munich partnership branding — but the core has remained the same: Russia's most important annual gathering for construction equipment, mining machinery, road construction systems, and the components that keep all of it running.

What CTT Expo Actually Covers

The exhibition divides its content across distinct product categories. Earthmoving machinery — excavators, loaders, graders, bulldozers — occupies the largest section. Road construction equipment follows: pavers, rollers, milling machines, and associated plant. Cranes and lifting equipment have a dedicated outdoor presence where larger machines can be shown in representative operating configuration. Concrete production equipment, including mobile and stationary batching plants, covers the building materials manufacturing segment. A mining and mineral processing section runs as a co-located show under the MINING CTT banner, covering extraction, crushing, screening, and underground equipment separately.

The exhibitor list at recent editions has leaned heavily toward Chinese manufacturers — SANY, XCMG, LiuGong, Zoomlion, LGMG, LOVOL, and NFLG all maintain consistent presence. Russian domestic brands including Amkodor and Rostselmash attend alongside Turkish, Korean, and European suppliers whose market exposure in Russia has shifted considerably since 2022. The net result is a floor where Chinese-made equipment dominates the heavy machinery segments, creating a particular dynamic for international attachment and component suppliers looking at the Russian and CIS market.

The CIS Context

CTT Expo's influence extends well beyond Russia's borders. Buyers from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and other CIS states attend regularly, treating Moscow as the nearest major procurement hub for equipment that their domestic markets don't supply directly. The Central Asian construction and mining boom — driven by infrastructure investment in Kazakhstan's mining sector, Uzbekistan's gold and copper operations, and large-scale road and housing development across multiple republics — generates real purchasing demand from the CTT Expo visitor base.

The peak procurement timing is deliberate. May is the window between winter shutdown and the active summer construction season across Russia and Central Asia. Equipment deals made at CTT Expo in late May translate into deliveries that arrive on site in time for the working months. That commercial logic is why exhibitor rebooking rates consistently run above 90 percent — the timing works for the buyers, and therefore it works for the sellers.

MINING CTT: The Co-Located Exhibition

Since 2026, MINING CTT has been presented as the international trade fair of mining machinery, equipment, and technologies, running concurrently with CTT Expo at Crocus Expo. The mining section covers underground and surface equipment, mineral processing plant, drilling systems, safety technology, and related services. BELAZ — the Belarusian manufacturer of large mining haul trucks widely used in Russian open-pit coal and ore operations — is one of the anchor exhibitors in the mining zone, alongside Russian and international suppliers of crushing and grinding equipment.

Why Attachment Suppliers Register

For hydraulic breaker and demolition attachment manufacturers, CTT Expo's combination of construction and mining equipment buyers in the same building represents the full spectrum of Russian end-user demand. Russian quarry operators, civil demolition contractors, and mining site managers all attend. The outdoor demonstration area — where working machines can operate rather than sit static — gives attachment suppliers the opportunity to show product performance in conditions that indoor booths cannot replicate. Russian buyers, in particular, respond to demonstrated rather than described performance. Getting a hydraulic breaker onto an excavator in the outdoor area at Crocus Expo and running it in front of a procurement team from a Siberian copper mine is a different kind of sales activity than handing over a specification sheet.
